May 3, 08

Hi from Tex (aka Yazz aka David) Allen, Antioch alumus (Email me at TexAllen@Hotmail.Com):

I'm getting email messages from Antioch alumni I've been in touch with during the past year who write now about attending their "last Antioch Non-Stop meeting" at various cities around the USA.

Hi From Yazz Allen (YazzAllen@Yahoo.Com)!

Here is the text of a message released (Sept. 3, 2007) to the Antioch Alumni chatline by Antioch College Alumni Assn. Treasurer, Rick Daily '67 regarding negotiations and planning the Antioch College Alumni Assn. is currently engaged in with the Antioch University Board Of Trustees regarding the efforts of Antioch alumni to keep Antioch College open without interuption beyond July 2008, the date the AU BOT announced on June 12, 2007 that Antioch College would be closed down.

Antioch College alumni have protested the closedown decision, and are working to get the Antioch University Board Of Trustees to reverse it.

[Slightly modified by Yazz Atlas since this was submitted Sept. 3 2007 and I only got around to posting it today. Sorry about that. ]

Results Of Cincinnati OH Antioch University Board Of Trustees "Emergency Meeting" According To Press Release from BOT

Hi From Yazz Allen!

Here is the text of the official press release from the Antioch University Board Of Trustees sent out today (Monday, August 27, 2007) following the "Emergency Meeting" the AU BOT held this past weekend in Cincinnati, Ohio:

Former Antioch University Trustees Make Public Statement To Current AU Trustees! Result? MORE delay of legal action!

Hello from Yazz Allen!

Antiochians facing the closedown of Antioch College, Ohio, in July 2008 are now being treated to a game of "good cop/ bad cop" enacted by former Antioch University Trustees communicating (like ambassadors) in a public letter with the current Antioch University Trustees. Old trustees are the "good cops" in this phony game, and the current trustees are the "bad cops." Really, these are just people on the same side, playing the same game, hoping for the same outcome...

What, exactly, does "saving Antioch College" mean? It means keep Antioch College OPEN without interruption past July 2008!

We have to be quite clear about specifically what we mean when we state we desire to "save the college," the poignant but vague phrase so many are using currently, obviously with great sincerity.

Those in power on the Antioch University Board Of Trustees include themselves and their decision to close Antioch College down in 2008 as "saving the college," or at least claim that publically.

If Antioch College is to be saved, it must be kept open past July 2008, and the decision to close it must be opposed and stopped. Resources gathered to "save the college" must be used to keep Antioch College open, and to oppose those closing it, probably in court and probably using lawyers.
