Michael Casselli, Antioch College alumnus, posted the following message written yesterday (July 20, 2007) by Mary Lou LaPierre, Vice Chancellor, Office Of Development, Antioich University World Headquarters (she's the senior paid PR person for Antioch University Board Of Trustees).
Ms. LaPierre states firmly the Antioch University Board Of Trustees has NO intention of allowing Antioch College to remain open after the announced July 2008 closedown date. The Antioch University Board Of Trustees (Ms. LaPierre is their official, paid spokesperson)) will NOT be moved by all the fund raising going on now.
Unless the Antioch University Board Of Trustees is stopped legally (injunction, removed due to malfeasance, etc.), the closedown will proceed. This closedown announcement is NOT about money, as claimed. It's about power for the Antioch University Board Of Trustees and administrators, and the remaining University Of Phoenix type campuses which will carry the name "Antioch" but will go down in history (unless stopped) as assassins of Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, founded in 1852 by Horace Mann.
