Antioch U. Board Of Trustees Continue Strategy To Subvert And Drain Energy At Antioch Alumni Meetings Meant To Oppose Closedown

The Antioch University Board Of Trustees headed by Chairperson Art Zucker '55, North Carolina Millionaire, desire that the current opposition mounted all over the USA and outside it working to reverse the closedown decision the Antioch U. BOT made re: Antioch College come to nothing, and the BOT has strategies to support their desire.

So far, the strategy is working.

Antioch Alumni meetings to oppose the shutdown of Antioch College in July 2008 and allow the school to remain open without interuption are being visited and dominated by Antioch University Board Of Trustee speakers.

Dave Coldren '66 has a pretty good plan for Antioch re-opening in 2012/ Also June 1, 07 Washington DC Antioch Alunmni Meeting

Here's a copy of an email exchange I had recently with J. David Coldren '66, now living in Michigan City, Indiana, and quite attentive to the current Antioch closedown crisis.

The email exchange includes Dave Coldren '66 's pretty good ideas for re-opening Antioch, and his "take" that the present fund-raising, bail-out activity will not succeed....all attention must be focussed on a 2012 re-opening, that is our best hope realistically.

Following Coldren's detailed message about re-opening Antioch, and how to do it, I report on the Washington DC Antioch Alumni Meeting held yesterday, July 1, 07 at 122 Maryland Ave NE Wash DC on Capitol Hill at the residence/ office complex limosene liberal Stuart Mott makes available to Antioch alumni meetings and causes from time to time, as a courtesy.

Can a poor alumni artist help out the college without offending other Alumni in the process?

Hi everyone, I am a proud graduate of Antioch College who majored in visual arts and graduated in 96. Like many others I am still recovering from the shock (though not entirely unexpected) of the college's closing. I was unable to attend the reunion, but listened to the podcast provided by WYSO, and have talked to a number of Alumni over the past couple weeks. Seeing the resolve to fight this closure that so many other Alumni have exhibited, has inspired me to try to find a way to help as well. I am considering donating a portion of my glass sales to the Save Antioch fund, but I need to know if my idea sounds ok, or is distateful to the community since it pretty much requires promoting my business in the process?
