Well I tired...

I did my part to try to get something for the San Francisco Bay Area Alumni Chapter while thoses over at Antiochians.org get there act together. However I'm going to step back and watch from now on.

Whats the worst that could happen?

Working on a San Francisco Bay Area Antioch Alumni Database

Well just last Sunday I attended a gathering of Bay Area Alumni. Which I have to say was a good turn out. What I didn't expect was to get drafted into build or creating a Bay Area Alumni database. I feel bad for the Antiochians they are really trying to put there heads together. It's CG all over again but without being face to face. I stayed away from CG when I was a student. It was fustrating to watch people bang there heads for day or months and have little if anything to show for it.

For my part of I have most likely haven't helped much since I don't think anyone is really listening, at least on the mailing list. Everyone is so focused on saving Antioch and so far the only solutions they have seems to be raise money, create website, create user database, and save Antioch. Multiple people including myself have made sugestions on what software to use for the user database and money rasing. CiviCRM seems to be the choice other people have used. Sure with the right skilled people they could build there own too, if someone has the time to work for free. There is even a company that can provide all of that for Free or a monthly cost of $50 (thats $600 for a year and then the College doors close anyway if they can't raise the money).

No Satellite Photo for Antioch on Google Maps

I'm just messing with Google Maps and seeing what they might add if anything to the sight. So far they don't seem to really do much except take time to load and show a map without navigation or address information.

Videos of LA immigration reform rally

Videos of LA immigration reform rally:

Mark Frauenfelder:
Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton is promising an investigation into the police response to an immigration rally in Los Angeles yesterday. When some people threw bottles and rocks at the police, the police responded by firing rubber bullets and tear gas into the crowd, and hitting people with batons. Several members of the media were injured.

Other members of the media who were injured included four employees of KVEA-TV Channel 52, a KTTV-TV Channel 11 news reporter who suffered a minor shoulder injury, a camerawoman who has a broken wrist and a reporter for KPCC-FM (89.3) who was bruised by a police baton.

"I was dumbfounded," said the KPCC reporter, Patricia Nazario. "I've covered riots. I've covered chaos. I was never hit or struck or humiliated the way the LAPD violated me yesterday."

Nazario said she was walking away from riot police when she was hit in the back.

SaveAntioch.org being spammed...

I'd really like to add SaveAntioch Comments to the new feeds I link to. However if you look at the SaveAntioch Comments you will see lots of spam. I'm not going to push link spam to everyone. If some could just delete the link spam...

Gun Control

AntiRecord dot Org or now dot Com, either work now...

It uses to be that you had to apply to get a domain and state why you wanted it. You filled out the forms and were asked if the domain was for a Company, Organization, or Network provider. These days it doesn't really matter anymore. Most people expect to the name of the website (also known as the Domain Name) to end in COM. So instead of trying to get people to remember this website is an dot org I spent the few bucks it costs and grabbed the dot com. Now both will work and direct you to the right place. -Yazz
